Sonya Francis, Kitchen & Nursery Coordinator
Sonya is Mansfield born and bred with roots in Virginia, Massachusetts, Italy & Scotland. She has been married to her split-apart (some of you may get this movie reference J) for 27 years. She worked in the medical field for 12 years until the birth of her first son. At that time she became a stay-at-home mother and homemaker (She likes to call herself a ‘Domestic Engineer’ J). Her second son was born 5 ½ years later to round out their little group to four. She has been a basketball, baseball, soccer & wrestling mom and enjoyed every moment of it, missing it when they outgrew it.
She enjoys gardening, canning, cooking, baking, sewing, painting, drawing, crafting, repurposing, and refashioning…anything that involves creating. She loves spending time with her family and friends, indoors or out.
"I thank the Lord daily for the many blessings that He has bestowed upon me and the talents He has given me that help me to do the things that I love."
What do you love best about your ministry at the church?
I love being an example of Christ’s love to the little ones and God’s handmaiden to the people that I feed.
What is your favorite food?
This is a hard one…I am Italian (we adore food). But I think I will have to say coffee ice cream.
What is something people don't know about you?
I just celebrated the 1st anniversary of starting an event planning business with my sister/friend.
Besides Jesus, who has had the most influence on you?
My mother and my paternal grandmother. I only hope that I can be ½ the Christian women they were.
What is your favorite season?
SPRING! To see the new buds starting to poke up through the soil is wondrous. The promise of new life, new beginnings, a fresh start.
