Dana Woodring

Dana Woodring

Dana serves as a Ruling Elder at Mansfield 1st Presbyterian Church. He works alongside our pastor and session in caring for the church’s building and grounds. A faithful member of the congregation for 40 years, he has shared his gifts in many ways over the years, including serving as a deacon and participating in Stephen Ministry.

Raised in a family active in Presbyterian churches, Dana continued that tradition after marrying his wife, El, and raising their three daughters. He shares that his walk with Jesus truly began in his mid-twenties, and since then—especially during his years at Mansfield 1st—his faith has continued to deepen. For Dana, faith is a lifelong journey, and his steady trust in the Lord shines through in the way he lives and serves.

Following a 42-year career in teaching and coaching, Dana is now enjoying retirement and the many blessings that come with this season of life. His years in education strengthened his belief in teamwork, service, and working together toward a common purpose. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, pickleball, boating, gardening, and traveling—especially when it means spending time with family in southwest Montana.

Among Dana’s favorite Bible verses are John 7:37, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink…”, and Ephesians 6:10–11, “Be strong in the Lord… Put on the whole armor of God…”. These passages reflect the steady faith and hope that continue to guide his life.
